Since 2007 Amy has played a leading role at Pears Foundation. She has been Director since 2012. She works closely with Sir Trevor Pears and family to help them achieve their philanthropic vision and build the Foundation as an institution, advising on strategy, directing operations and overseeing a varied portfolio of programmes and grants. In 2018 she received the JJ Greenberg Memorial Award for foundation professionals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in Jewish philanthropy.

Amy has been instrumental in building the professional infrastructure and team that has enabled the Foundation to increase it's annual expenditure from four to twenty million whilst retaining its strong focus on partnerships and relationships. She has worked with organisations and chief executives across the voluntary sector from grass-roots start-ups to major universities and large charities, building strong relationships and helping them to make a real impact.

I am continually inspired by the Pears family’s vision and it has been a privilege to create and nurture an organisational structure to help them realise it. In the years I've worked at Pears we’ve become one of the largest family foundations in the UK, but I hope our partners would agree that we’ve retained our values and our focus on building true partnerships that go well beyond a standard funder-grantee relationship. The team here is unique and I’m proud of the passion, professionalism and integrity we all bring to our work.

Amy has a first-class degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge and a professional background in policy and public affairs at the Parliamentary Committee against Antisemitism (now known as the Antisemitism Policy Trust) and the Greater London Authority. She has two young children, is a former a trustee of Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and is currently  Vice Chair of the Miscarriage Association.

Amy is known by her colleagues for her ability to see the big picture as well as hold on to the detail. She is an excellent problem solver and is prone to triggering epiphanies within the team, who respect her ability to add value to every conversation she has. She is a strong and conscientious leader with a light touch and a sense of fun.
