Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People

We are delighted to announce a new £5.5m grant for The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People

4th February 2020

Pears Foundation has awarded £5.5m in total towards a ground-breaking new initiative in children and young people’s mental health, which aims to improve early identification of mental health problems and transform the treatment and care of children and young people in the UK and across the globe.

The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People will bring together, under one roof, leading experts in clinical care and research from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN).

The new £65m facility to be built on the Maudsley Hospital site in South London will also house the outstanding Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School, offering young people who are inpatients highly personalised education to help them keep up with their studies at this challenging time in their lives.
