The Soapy project began in 2017 as part of the Pears Challenge with the Pears Programme for Global Innovation. Since 2019, our additional support has enabled 16 units to be installed in schools and rural locations in India so far, and we are so pleased to see them being used by women and girls in Kurinjipadi, Cuddalore OT and Thirupathiripuliyur for IWD21.

Soapy is an innovative start-up dedicated to implementing high-tech hygiene solutions around the world to break the morbidity cycles of infectious diseases. Soapy Care’s hygiene stations are water-efficient and use approximately one glass of water to perform an effective wash, compared to the 12 glasses used when washing hands under an ordinary tap.
