Rachel Franklin

Operations Manager

I love working at the Pears Foundation and supporting such a wide variety of grantees. From Place2Be supporting mental health in schools across the country, to Pears Scholars at Hebrew University studying to improve public health across the world, each organisation is different but brought together by the values at the heart of the Foundation's purpose.

Rachel joined Pears Foundations as Grants Assistant in 2018. She oversees all of the Foundation’s operations, including sourcing and developing software to help us work more effectively and managing the logistics of the Pears Professional Development Programme. She is also responsible for communications and the website.

Rachel began her career in the third sector working at Comic Relief as a PA and International Programme Coordinator in the Grants department. Rachel learnt a great deal about the intricacies of grant making during this time and has used this experience working alongside the Pears Foundation team.

Rachel studied Psychology at Nottingham Trent University where she also became more involved in fundraising, volunteering and social action. During this time she learnt about some of the complexities of sustainable international development through volunteering in Ghana with Tzedek.
