The art of gathering

Trainer: Shoshana Boyd Gelfand If the Covid-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it is how powerful it is to gather with others. This workshop presents some of the insights of Priya Parker, a pioneer in the field of group dynamics. We will explore her framework for creating meaningful gatherings, including identifying the purpose of the gathering, how to set up the participants, crafting a powerful opening and closing the gathering well. Workshop participants will then apply this framework to plan a gathering of their own – whether that is their organisation’s annual fundraiser, a seminar or roundtable, a staff away day or even their Christmas party. The model applies equally well to any gathering of any size, and participants will walk out of the workshop with a well-thought out plan for an upcoming gathering. So do come with a particular gathering in mind! Who is it for? The workshop is open to all and participants at any level of experience or seniority are welcome. We think it will be of particular interest to those who are responsible for event planning but the principles can be applied to any type of gathering – even a simple staff meeting.
